We hope you enjoy the slide show depicting our life off-grid on the remote Caribou Island in Skilak Lake, Alaska, which culminated in my book Winds of Skilak: A Tale of True Grit, True Love and Survival in the Alaskan Wilderness.

Thanks you so much Bonnie…we loved watching you two; its as if you’ve just completed these projects.. as if you’re still so young….we love that you actually lived as you wanted, did all the things that take confidence in each other to actually live & enjoy all that hard work & peace…& the music was a good pick too….golly, one day we might actually get to meet you…(we haven’t chatted in a while) & we haven’t traveled in a while either to get down your way…Old friend Joyce from Central Square, N.Y.

Hello Joyce,
I’m so glad that you enjoyed the slideshow. Ha! I wish we were still that young. Wouldn’t mind doing it all over again! What an adventure it was! Stay in touch my “old friend from Central Square, N.Y.!”
Maybe one day we will get to meet!
Your “old friend,”
Bonnie
was interested to know
1. Why move back
2. Why West Virgina
3. Have you been back for any visits
Thank you
Loved your book, but why no pix of Bill? Was he too shy? I volunteered on Kodiak Is for 6 months and in Sitka for 4 months and fell in love with AK., but I live on Mt. Desert Is. , Maine with Family so could never move there. I am going to look to see if you’ve written more because you have a natural talent for it. I am also a Christian and love what you wrote about your great faith. God is good!
Hello, Mrs. Lenny Sweet!
I’m thrilled to hear that you loved the book! I changed the names of the characters in the book to protect their identity, so of course, I didn’t want to put their photo’s in the book either. I have a sequel due out in January, which tells “the rest of the story!” I hope you enjoy it as well. Thank you so much for taking the time to write me.
Many blessings,
Bonnie Rose Ward
I’ve enjoyed your books. I would like to find the lake on a map. Could you give me information where caribou island and Skilak Lake are located. Thank you.
