December 10, 2014: In today’s show I had the privilege to interview Bonnie Rose Ward, author of Winds of Skilak. She can be found at www.windsofskilak.com where she blogs about her life in Alaska and her life today. Bonnie’s books was absolutely amazing and I had to get in touch with her for an interview!! Her book was something I really treasured because I could relate SO much to her story – it paralleled mine and it takes place in the wilds of Alaska which is the next dream our family would like to embrace. She is an inspiration and an amazing Mountain Woman.

I lived in Alaska for about two years. But, I was in the Army at the time, 1978-1980. I am currently writing about my experiences while I was there. But, after reading your book, (not finished yet), I can see that your experiences were much more real than mine will ever be! There is so much I have to write about, and I am grateful to Bonnie for her encouragement.
Thanks
Michael. Sayre Retired Army
Thank you, Michael! Our experiences in Alaska may be different, but that doesn’t make yours any less real than mine…just different. I hope you will write about them, because I imagine you experienced a lot in those two years. It felt like we lived a “lifetime” our first two years in Alaska! It doesn’t matter what you’re doing or where you’re living there, but if it’s in Alaska there is definitely adventure and amazing tales involved. I say, “Write on,” Michael, “Write on!”
Your friend,
Bonnie
